National Gideon "Nash" WileyNational Gideon “Nash” Wiley of the Bolden Community died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.He is survived by three daughters, Lillie Paige of Cleveland, Ohio, Sandra McIver of Crescent and Janice Lambert of Riceboro; one son, Dennis Wiley of Bolden; adopted daughter and son, Pamela Strickland and Ricardo Smith; three siblings, Edith Winn, Horace M. Banfield and Matilda Murfree, all of Bolden; two brothers, Solomon Wiley of Midway and Stacey Wiley of Fort Myers, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Delores Jackson and Margie Wiley; one uncle, Lawrence McIver; and one aunt, Vertie McIver.Born and educated in McIntosh County, he was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired commercial fisherman.Darien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
