National Gideon "Nash" Wiley

National Gideon “Nash” Wiley of the Bolden Community died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

He is survived by three daughters, Lillie Paige of Cleveland, Ohio, Sandra McIver of Crescent and Janice Lambert of Riceboro; one son, Dennis Wiley of Bolden; adopted daughter and son, Pamela Strickland and Ricardo Smith; three siblings, Edith Winn, Horace M. Banfield and Matilda Murfree, all of Bolden; two brothers, Solomon Wiley of Midway and Stacey Wiley of Fort Myers, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Delores Jackson and Margie Wiley; one uncle, Lawrence McIver; and one aunt, Vertie McIver.

Born and educated in McIntosh County, he was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired commercial fisherman.

Darien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
