Almeda S. Scott
Almeda S. Scott, 85, of Waynesville died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at the Brunswick hospital of the Southeast Georgia Health System.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 24, in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Fouche officiating.
Born Sept. 14, 1924, in Glynn County to the late Daniel and Ethel Arnette Surrency, she was a homemaker and former employee of Sea-Pak. She had resided in Brantley County since 1992, and was a Methodist.
Mrs. Scott was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Scott; and a granddaughter, Donya Strickland.
Survivors include her sons, Terry Strickland and wife, Judy, of Darien and Donald Strickland of Fripp Island, S.C.; a daughter, Kay Iovine of Waynesville; seven grandchildren, Terri Amara, Lauree Giunta and husband, Larry, Gregory Iovine and wife, Melissa, Christy Strickland, Annette Williford and husband, David, Seth Jordan and Wilson Strickland; and seven great-grandchildren.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
