V. Joseph Biletzskov

V. Joseph Biletzskov, 80 of Dandridge, Tenn., and formerly a resident of St. Simons Island for more than 50 years, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, in Dandridge.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Christ Church Cemetery, St. Simons Island.

Born June 21, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Carmella Evangelista Biletzskov, he was a retired land surveyor and the former owner of Biletzskov and Associates. Mr. Biletzskov was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a drill instructor. He receiver the Bar Association’s Liberty Bell Award and was a vigil Honor for Order of The Arrow. He was a Catholic and formerly the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 227. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Biletzskov; and a daughter, Charlie smith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda T. Biletzskov of Dandridge; three sons, Michael Biletzskov and wife, Jackie, of Darien, Mark Biletzskov of Elkton, Fla., and Stephen Biletzskov of Brunswick; four daughters, Linda Stewart and husband, James, and Diane Stewart and husband, Brian, all of Brunswick, Debra Pless and husband, Tracy, of Statesboro, and Darby Covington and husband, Adam, of Darien; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Philip Palmese and wife, Linda, of East Greenbush, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Bascom Murrah and wife, Barbara, of St. Simons Island; sister-in-law, Anne Hinnant of Virginia; and special friends, Mary Wilson of St. Simons Island and Fred Marland of Darien.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Boy Scouts of America.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
