Governor Kemp orders investigation of Clerk of Courts Rebecca McFerrin
Georgia’s Governor Bryan Kemp has ordered on Jan. 30 an investigation of Rebecca McFerrin, McIntosh County’s Clerk of Courts, concerning her ability to effectively perform her duties, following a request made by McIntosh Court judges in October.
Kemp has appointed a committee to investigate and provide a report of findings within the next 30 days. Serving on the committee are Attorney General Chris Carr and two Georgia Clerks of Court.
In October, Senior Judge of the Atlantic Judicial Circuit Robert L. Russell and McIntosh State Court Judge Jean Bolin requested an investigation by then Governor Nathan Deal.
McFerrin became Clerk of Court in 2016.
