Man grabs more than $500 from B&J’s cash drawer and is captured in Glynn

Between 7 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, a man waltzed into B&J’s Restaurant in Darien, reached into the cash drawer while it was open and snatched more than $500, according to Amanda Smith, the general manager.

He exited the popular restaurant and jumped into an older model red Corvette with a handicapped sticker and departed. Within an hour, Johnny Ray Durden, was apprehended in Glynn County by Glynn County Police, assisted by the Darien Police and the McIntosh County Office of the Sheriff.
