Daniel Christopher Dowdy
Daniel Christopher Dowdy, age 24, of Glennville, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Optim Hospital in Reidsville from injuries sustained in a boating accident.
He was a native of Manassas, Va., and the family moved to Glennville, when he was four months old.
He is a 2014 graduate of Tattnall County High School and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. After graduation, he followed in his father’s footsteps and began work with Dowdy Electric. Growing up in the south, he loved all things outdoors, including hunting and fishing. His zeal for life and love for his friends and family will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, Dane and Elaine Dowdy of Glennville; sisters, Lacy Dowdy and Gracie Dowdy, all of Glennville; paternal grandparents, Jeanette and Jim Bruner of Townsend; aunts and uncles, Dennis Dowdy of Townsend, Carl Barnes of Virginia and Pam Kidd of Virginia; several great-aunts and uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, July 8, at the Glennville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at the Cornerstone Bible Church, with the Reverend Steve Posey officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buster Smith, Ben Odum, Stephen Odum, Jordan Kennedy, Spencer Brannen, Dalton Howard, Blake Barry and Chance Jarriel.
