Dianne Cone Jackson, 69, of Darien passed away on Aug. 10, 2019, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
She was a native of Athens, Ga. She is a 1968 graduate of Thomas County Central High School. She graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and received a Bachelor of Education degree from Florida State University. She later earned a Master of Education from Valdosta State University. Dianne devoted her career to teaching kindergarten students for 38 years.
She formerly served as councilwoman for the City of Pavo and as president of the Pavo Civic Club. She was a member of the Brunswick chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A lifelong member of Pavo Baptist Church, she and her family recently were attending College Place Methodist Church in Brunswick.
She is survived by her mother, Joy Jones Cone of Brunswick; husband, Jim Jackson of Darien; daughter, Leslie Jackson of Darien; two grandsons; sisters, Phyllis Cone McNicoll of Brunswick and Elaine Cone Jones of Pavo; and several other relatives.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at College Place Methodist Church in Brunswick and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Pavo Baptist Church in Pavo.
