Thursday, March 19, COVID-19 Update

  • Georgia Power is temporarily suspending residential disconnections beginning on March 14 for 30 days, and will reevaluate the decision and timeframe as the situation develops.
  • BI-LO has designated a special shopping hour for seniors and high-risk customers from 8 to 9 a.m., Monday through Friday; and store hours are now 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Coastal Health District has expanded access to COVID-19 testing for high-risk individuals to an undisclosed location in Glynn County and is NOT open to the general public or the media. The centers are for the collection of specimens from mildly ill people who do not require medical care or hospitalization, but who DO fall into one of the other prioritized groups. Only individuals who have been evaluated by a healthcare provider and assigned a Person Under Investigation (PUI) number will be referred to these drive-through sites.
  • Ida Hilton Public Library in Darien until further notice.
