Schools to remain Closed through April 24

A letter from School Superintendent Pulos

Schools to remain Closed through April 24

Good Afternoon,

Governor Brian Kemp announced today that all schools in Georgia will remain closed through April 24, 2020.  We will continue to provide more information as it comes available and as decisions are made regarding major scheduled events such as prom and graduation.  This is an extension of the guidance received earlier in March pertaining to school closure, which included the postponement of all athletic events and school-sponsored extracurricular activities.

The McIntosh County School System will continue to provide meals for our students throughout this crisis.  Todd-Grant and South Newport Baptist Church are the two main sites for picking up meals between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday.  Food will be provided for multiple days at a time and will now cover weekends, as well.

Teachers are providing work for each student via various means.  Parents/guardians will need to make sure that their children are working diligently on their assignments daily, and this includes our strong commitment that students need to read each and every day.  Assignments and grades may be viewed by accessing the parent portal.

May God bless each of you!

Dr. Jim Pulos

Superintendent of Schools

McIntosh County
