The Georgia Department of Health website has been updated with additional COVID-19 information and graphs. New characteristics of the site include the ability to hover over individual counties on the statewide map to see a snapshot of data including confirmed cases, case rates, total deaths, and hospitalizations. In addition, the state website now updates COVID-19 cases on an hourly basis.
Starting this afternoon at 5 p.m., we will move from sending twice-daily updates at 12 and 7 to sending a once daily email at 5 p.m. with confirmed cases and COVID-19 associated deaths for our eight Coastal Health District counties.
As of 12 p.m., April 28th, there are 419 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 12 deaths.
Cases by county:
- Bryan: 49 cases, 2 deaths
- Camden: 30 cases, 1 death
- Chatham: 208 cases, 7 deaths
- Effingham: 34 cases, 1 death
- Glynn: 53 cases, 1 death
- Liberty: 37 cases
- Long: 4 cases
- McIntosh: 4 cases
Please note: Reductions are due to corrections of previous errors in the database. The state office of epidemiology is reviewing the database and using geolocation to match addresses to counties. Some entries that had been manually entered into the wrong county are shifting to the correct county of residence.
