Marie Elizabeth Trutt
Marie Elizabeth Trutt, 71, of Darien, Georgia, passed peacefully away and reunited her late husband within Heaven’s Gates Tuesday, July 22, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, July 21, 1949 to late Clyde Eugene and Dorothy Elizabeth Mize. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and by her devoted husband, George Trutt; and a grandson, Justin Trutt. Left to cherish the memories of Marie are her two daughters, Susan Ackerman (Dale) and Amy Trutt of Darien, GA; also two sons, George “Bubba” Trutt and Neil Trutt of Darien, GA; nine grandchildren, Amanda Rogers (Robert Dewitt) of Powder Springs, GA, Jessica Chance, Darien, GA, Joshua Trutt, Kaitlyn Trutt of Brunswick, GA, Joseph Trutt of Townsend, GA, Kristin Nunes (Eduardo) of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ace Trutt of Alma, GA, Connor Trutt, and Elyse Anderson of Darien, GA; six great-grandchildren, Austin Glisson, Fred Chance II, Michael Chance, Kayleigh Trutt, Joshua Brave Nunes, and Justin William Trutt; two sisters, Vicky Goss of St. Augustine, FL, and Dorothy Hine of Palm Coast, FL; one brother, Tommy Mize, of Gilbert, AZ.
Marie loved cooking and her family will always cherish her pound cake, chicken and dumplings, and pecan pie recipes. She was a very kind hearted and loving lady. She was a generous lady that always adopted less fortunate families at Christmas time. She was also an avid reader. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and loved the fragrance of her Jasmine Flowers.
The family will receive friends between 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A service to honor her life, that was well lived, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Darien Church of God with Rev. Tommy Whaley and her granddaughter officiating. The burial will follow the service in Whispering Pines Cemetery. We are requesting that all in attendance practice the state’s social distancing procedures.
