Mary Alice Wilber
Mary Alice Wilber, 78, of Darien, GA, passed away, Monday, July 5th, at her home.
Mary was retired from McIntosh County Board of Education. She was a founding member of the McIntosh County Athletic, the Band Booster and served many years as an officer of both.
She was always involved in everything to do with the children of McIntosh and she called them her children. She loved them all.
Mary is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Mary L. Owens (Randy Owens); son, Francis C. Wilber (Mary Wilber); her brothers, Leon Moody, Brunswick GA, James Moody, Darien, GA, Charles Moody, Darien, GA, Russell Moody, Darien, GA, Tony Moody, Darien, GA, Pete Moody, Darien, GA.; her sisters, Joyce Outlaw, Darien GA, Norma Jean Gardner, Darien, GA, Trudy Morrison, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Owens (Rachell), Daniel Owens (Amanda), Howard Jay Cothren (Lorie), Purdie Cothren (Julie), Donna Dinkins (Angelea), Adam Cothren (Amanda). She, also, has 20 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Avenue, Brunswick, Ga.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday July 9, at the Church of God of Darien, Darien, GA, Pastor Tommy Whaley, Mike Lynn, Hank Griffin, and Adam Cothren, officiating. Burial will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Jason Owens, Daniel Owens, Troy Lynn Driggers, David Gardner, Purdie Cothren and Richard Perry.
