Leon Tucker Jr., 64, of Brunswick, passed away on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Northside Baptist church in Brunswick, with Pastor Travis Thrower officiating, with an honor guard provided by the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Glynn County Sheriff’s Office, the Brunswick Police Department and the Glynn County Police Department.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Chapman Funeral Chapel.
The Memphis, Tenn. native was a former resident of Darien and had lived in Brunswick since 1991. He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Glynn County Sheriff’s Department and was a former officer with the Brunswick Police Department and Glynn County Police Department. He enjoyed camping, fishing, old cars and spending time with his family. He was a member of Golden Isles Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gwytha Lee Tucker; his children, Wyndee Tucker of Darien, Brittany Ravenscraft of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jerry Mancil and Johnny Mancil, all of Brunswick; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Leslie Tucker; and sisters, Sheryl Perkins, Diann Grady and Vicki Danford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Georgia Sheriff’s Association Youth Home, Attention: Development Division, 3000 Hwy. 42 N., McDonough, GA 30253
