Gail Lee Connally, age 65, of Darien, Georgia entered peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 9, 2021 with her family by her side. Gail was born in Athens, GA and was a 1973 graduate of Oconee County High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 from the University of Georgia. She was a former University of Georgia Bus Driver and also drove buses for many school districts. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Darien. She often participated in coordinating Vacation Bible School and was always eager to volunteer.

Gail loved to travel and had the pleasure of visiting all 50 states and 5 continents. She also enjoyed RV-ing, camping, and going on cruises. She was an avid reader and enjoyed genealogy, gardening, and doing crafts. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish Gail’s memories are her husband of almost 31 years, Mark Connally; her two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Phillips (Tim) and Emylee Connally (Kyle); one son, Jonathan Connally; four grandchildren, Mason, Ethan, Owen, and Evan Phillips; her mother, Nell Sizemore (Bill); and her brother, Tommy Lee. Gail was preceded in death by her father, Edward “Buck” Lee.

For her Darien church family, a memorial service to honor Gail’s life will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Darien, GA with Rev. Jack Peeler officiating.

For her Athens family, a visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. Followed by a graveside service at 3:30pm at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606, with Rev. Ken Jennings officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Darien. GA.
