Carrie M. Smith, formerly of Darien, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Augusta University Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at St. John Baptist Church in Darien, with burial to follow in Upper Mill Cemetery.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, at Darien Funeral Home.

She is survived by her children, Malaya Pace, Carl Smith and Sonya Mitchell; siblings, Paul Mention, Ruby Smith and George Mention; and other relatives.

Darien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
