Brenda Kay Kersey
Brenda Kay Kersey, 63, of Riceboro, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, under the care of her family and Compassus Hospice.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, she lived most of her life in McIntosh County and in Riceboro for the past six years. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Simmons, Jr. in Hinesville for many years and was a homemaker. The matriarch of her family, she was loved by all who met her and enjoyed crafting in her spare time. Brenda was a member of Townsend Church of God and was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert Ginn, Sr., and a granddaughter, Eryana Jones.
Survivors are her husband, Howard Kersey of Riceboro; daughter, Erin Ginn and son, Jimmy Ginn, both of Townsend; sister and brother-in-law, Vonda Vaughn and Ricky of Waynesville; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary Holland, Sr. and Pansy, Kevin Holland and Mark Holland all of Cox; a grandson, Anthony Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 25, at 2 p.m. at Townsend Church of God, with Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will follow in Middleton Memorial Cemetery in Long County.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Kersey, Brian Faulk, Marty Faulk, Bobby Cox, Gary Holland, Jr., and James Ray.
