Susan Marie Trutt Ackerman

Susan Marie Trutt Ackerman, age 57, of Darien, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Susan was born in St. Augustine, Florida, to parents George and Marie Trutt and the family moved to Darien in 1977. Susan graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse at Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus. She also enjoyed helping her husband, Dale, with their commercial fishing business.

In addition to her parents, a brother, Neil Trutt, and a nephew, Justin Trutt, preceded her in death.

Susan is survived by her husband, Dale Ackerman of Darien; two daughters, Amanda Rogers (Robert Dewitt) of Powder Springs and Jessica Chance (John Spivey) of Odum; three grandsons, Austin Glisson of Powder Springs, Fred Chance II and Michael Chance, all of Bryan County; and several nieces and nephews.

Susan’s memorialization will be by cremation.
