County Commission cancels meeting due lack of meeting space

The McIntosh County Board of Commissioners are cancelling the regularly scheduled October 5, 2023 Board Meeting.  The Sheriff, in accordance with his statutory authority, has indicated that Board Meetings would no longer be allowed in the Courtroom due to security concerns.

Staff continues to search for a location that will comply with basic requirements of sound, shelter and security.

It is anticipated that a called meeting will be held (subject to the notice requirements) before the regularly scheduled November Board Meeting to address the Sapelo Community Center RFP and any other properly noticed business.
