Liberty County man charged with murder

in the shooting death of Quinton Blocker

Quinton Blocker, 31, formerly of Darien, was shot and killed on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 14, during a gathering at Briar Bay Park pavilion in Riceboro.

Algernon Leron Stewart, 34, of Briar Bay Road in Liberty County, has been arrested and charged with the murder in the death of Blocker.

According to reports from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, additional charges are pending.

Blocker is the son of Erica Blocker LeConte, of Briar Bay and formerly of Darien, and he is the grandson of Jeanette Blocker of Darien.
