GoFundMe account set up after Miss Kristin burned

After the shrimp boat, Miss Kristin, own was destroyed by fire the evening of Oct. 26, a GoFundMe  account has been set up to assist its owner, Capt. Jamey Bennett, his family and crew as they face a heartbreaking and uncertain road ahead.

Anchored Shrimp Company has asked the community to keep Capt. Bennett and his crew in their prayers, noting that these vessels “mean everything to folks.”

The GoFundMe account is organized by Aaron Wallace and Bennett, who the fundraiser describes as the youngest shrimper in Georgia and one of its top fishermen. The funds aim to finish paying off the lost vessel and replace the equipment destroyed in the fire.
