Burn Ban lifted in McIntosh County

The burn ban for McIntosh County was lifted by Gov. Brian Kemp on Wednesday, May 6, but 17 counties very close to McIntosh remain under burn ban orders.

A burn ban was issued for 92 counties in south Georgia on April 21, which included McIntosh due to drought conditions and the two fires that were raging in Brantley, as well as in Clinch and Echols counties.

Counties remaining under the burn ban are Jeff Davis, Appling, Coffee, Bacon, Wayne, Berrien, Atkinson, Ware, Pierce, Brantley, Glynn, Lanier, Clinch, Charlton, Camden, Lowndes and Echols.
