The McIntosh YMCA is entering an exciting new chapter as the YMCA of Coastal Georgia announces the relocation of the branch to a new facility designed to better serve the community.
Beginning June 1, 2026, the McIntosh YMCA will officially open at its new location, at 5873 US Hwy.17 in north Darien.
The move represents an exciting step forward for the YMCA’s continued commitment to strengthening the health and well-being of individuals and families throughout McIntosh County.
“This new space gives us the opportunity to continue growing alongside our community,” said Doni Brezenski, Executive Director of the McIntosh County and Golden Isles YMCA. “We’re excited to welcome members into a place built for connection, wellness, and belonging.”
The new location reflects the YMCA’s ongoing investment in creating spaces where individuals and families can build healthy habits, strengthen relationships, and thrive together.
“The YMCA is always evolving to meet the needs of the communities we serve,” said Joel Smoker, President and CEO of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. “This move represents an exciting opportunity to expand our impact and continue serving the McIntosh County community in meaningful ways.”
To celebrate the transition, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia invites the community and media to attend the McIntosh YMCA Grand Opening on Monday, June 1, at 12 p.m.
The event is open to the public and will include opportunities to tour the new facility, meet YMCA staff, and learn more about programs and membership offerings. Friends, families, neighbors, and community supporters are encouraged to attend.
“We’re looking forward to opening our doors and celebrating this exciting milestone with the community,” said Mary Arocha, Chief Operating Officer of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia.
As part of the celebration, there will be no joiner’s fee for anyone who signs up for a membership on Grand Opening Day.
