Naomi R. Branson, age 96, of Darien, died Saturday, May 23, 2026, at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 2, 1930, in Troy, Penn., to the late Charles B. and the late Lillian F. Rought.

Naomi worked with K-Mark for 23 years and was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church in Savannah.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her family and bird watching. Naomi had a great faith in God and was quick to share love and joy in her heart. She had an ability to make everyone she met feel like family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Harold Danny Branson and daughter-in-law, Suzette G. Branson; brothers, Billy, Johnny and Robert Rought; her sisters, Edith Chester and Pauline Boatright.

She is survived by her children, Ron Branson and his wife Debra, Colleen Branson and Wade Branson and his wife Sharon; granddaughters, Anastasia Branson and Katie Nivens; grandsons, Judson Howell and his wife Sarah, Oscar Pelep, Jeff Harden and Michael Nivens; great-grandchildren, George and Jack Howell, Emilya Pelep, Matthew Ainsworth, Hunter Anderson, McKenzie White, Bentlee and Axel Wade Nivens; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 27, at noon, at Higher Ground Baptist Church.

Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors were in charge.
