Frances Linda Mock, 90, of Darien, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at Homelife on Glynco.

A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Chapman Funeral Chapel.

Linda was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Jacksonville, to John Clyde Brown and Jane Rachel Cathey Brown. She was a 1953 graduate of Glynn Academy and attended Georgia Teachers College. She attended Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in Darien, and enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and reading. Linda was a master barber and was co-owner for the former Brunswick Mall Barber Shop Annex. She was also employed by the Glynn County School System at the Adult Education Center, retiring in 2002.

Survivors include her children, Cydnie Wolfes of Darien and James “Jim” Royce Mock II (Kelli) of Grovetown; siblings, Gladys Louise Oyler (Charles “Chuck” Clinton Oyler Jr.) of Brunswick, George Vaughn Brown of DeLand, Fla., and Fran Brown Warren of Palm Coast, Fla.; grandchildren, James “Jaime” Royce Mock III and Samuel “Sam” Ryder Mock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
